Greenwich Group Runs

...because dragging yourself out of bed/straight from work/off the couch to go running in the rain/heat/humidity by yourself/with your girlfriend isn't always an easy task.

Mondays @ 6:30pm

Distance: ~3.0 to 7.0 miles--you're always welcome to add on

Pace: 7:00/mile to 12:00/mile--we want to accomodate everyone, so let us know if you plan on going faster/slower than this range.  And of course, bringing a friend helps

Where: Meet at the GrRC.  We have several routes through the rolling lands of the Greenwich suburbs

Perks: Besides having people to run with, and meeting new friends, we provide:

  • Free bag check--get changed at the store, we'll watch over your things
  • Healthy snacks--fruits, veggies, hummus, and we're open to suggestions
  • Light refreshments
  • Discounts--10% for our group runners
  • Invites to events--we appreciate you, and so occasionally we have podiatrists, coaches, trainers, nutrionists, and other specialists give seminars

Sundays @ 7:00am (Sunday Long Run)
*Please note we moved the runs ahead to 7am, because of the summer heat

Distance: ~7.0 to 20.0 miles--you crazies can add on

Pace: 7:00/mi to 12:00/mi--the majority of the group runs around 9:00/mi

Where: We start and finish at the store.  Alex Dino, marathoner and coach of the Greenwich Tri Club (GTC), takes the time to map out routes of varying mileage, and sends it to anyone who is interested.

Please RSVP with Alex if you think you'll be joining us!  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Perks: In addition to spending a couple hours pounding the pavement of Greenwich...

  • Refueling after--fresh coffee and a variety of bagels & cream cheese
  • Refueling during--cold water and gatorade every 5 miles along the route (very important during the dog days)
  • Fueling before--use your 10% discount to pick up GUs, Nuuns, Bloks, Chomps, Beans, and other energy nutrition
  • You get that dreaded long run out of the way first thing in the morning, leaving you feeling satisfied, accomplished, and ready to take on the rest of the day

Pending: Saturday Evening X-Training (aka Frisbee)

It's no secret that frisbee is the greatest thing ever, objectively speaking.  We would like to start an informal get-together for pick-up games of Ultimate, or just tossing the disc. If you are interested, please email us: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and say something like "I'm interested."

The logistics would look something like this:

When: Saturdays @ 6:30pm

Where: Havemeyer Track (infield)

Who: Anyone

...and perhaps, after parties would be in line?
